In the quiet Lindenhof district and at the northern end of the new business district, just a few minutes' walk south of the pedestrian zones. At the same time, it is located in the immediate vicinity of the Rhine promenade and only a few minutes' walk away from the Waldpark and the headquarters of the Kurpfalz, Mannheim Palace, in the other direction.
On the other side of the city center, the Neckar River flows from the Kraichgau region and then empties into the Rhine in Mannheim's harbor area. Directly on the other side of the Rhine lies Ludwigshafen and behind it the beautiful Palatinate with its wine villages and the Palatinate Forest. Also still doable by bike or in a few minutes by train away are Heidelberg, which is very popular with tourists, and the Kraichgau, where you can admire beautiful old towns and hiking trails as well as Homo heidelbergensis.
How do I get from A to B?
Public transport
Public transport in Mannheim and the entire metropolitan region is well developed. In Mannheim, the Rhine-Neckar Transport Association (VRN) is responsible, while Deutsche Bahn is responsible throughout Germany. You can find the most important apps in the links below. You can use both apps to pay for your tickets. A particularly practical feature of the VRN app is that you can start your journey when you set off and end it when you arrive at your destination. The cost is calculated as the crow flies.
Here are the some connections:
VRN tram line (StraBa) 3 directly in front of the building (Hauptbahnhof, Süd stop)
- Towards Sandhofen: Main Station, Water Tower, Pedestrian Zone (Strohmarkt), Market Square
Towards Rheingoldhalle: Meeräckerplatz (Lindenhofmarkt), Stollenwörthweiher, Rhine Beach
Deutsche Bahn ICE from Main Station:
- Heidelberg 22 km (10 min)
- Frankfurt Airport 80 km (35 min)
Bicycle
Cycling is a quick and easy way to get around Mannheim, even if not all bike paths are well developed. Cycling along the Rhine to the south and north is particularly pleasant. You can rent bicycles at the many VRNnextbike stations, for example, directly in front of our building, or you can buy a used one at the Lindenhof bicycle flea market.
